What is Energy Medicine?
Energy medicine includes Pranic Healing and Reiki at Evora. We believe in the power of combining traditional and holistic medical practices. Energy healing is the process of creating a balance in the body’s life forces - mind, body, and spirit. It often includes the removal of negative energies and energizing chakras.
What conditions Could Energy Healing Help?
Energy healing helps when negative energies are impacting your psychological and physical health. You may benefit if you have:

How are Pranic Healing and Reiki similar?
They have a similar philosophy: that balance of the body’s life force - mind, body, spirit - creates optimal health and well-being. Imbalances (dis-ease) and stress can lead to physical or psychological ailments.
Both promote taking responsibility for one’s life (mind/body/spirit balance) to improve mental, emotional, and physical health and well-being through the support of the body’s natural healing process.
Pranic healing and Reiki can be used to remove blockages to allow the body to regain balance and the energy in the body to flow more naturally.
Both stimulate relaxation and the parasympathetic nervous system, encouraging the natural healing process of the body.
Energy healing/medicine requires the recipient’s receptiveness to the technique and willingness to change/get better.
What is Different about pranic healing and reiki
Pranic Healing
Origin:
China/Philippines - Advanced form of External Medical Qigong
Technique:
Active projection/direction of life force energy to allow the body to come back into balance
Is non-touch/contactless
Will involve: Specific hand movement, visualization, and breathing techniques to cleanse the client’s aura and cleanse and/or energize chakras/organs/parts of the body.
May involve: distance healing, the use of crystals to enhance cleansing; repair of the webbing of chakras; creating a protective shield for the chakras/aura
Training:
Course work (80 h) to understand history and philosophy; General Intermediate, and Advanced Pranic Healing; as well as Pranic Psychotherapy, Crystal Healing, and Psychic Self-Defense.
Clinic work (10-20 h) - practicing giving Pranic Healing sessions to clients

Reiki (the Usui System of Natural Healing)
Origin:
Japan - based on Buddhist teachings
Technique:
Passive direction of life force energy to allow the body to come back into balance
Involves light touch; can be non-touch/contactless
Will involve: Energy being passively directed to specific parts of the client’s body using specific hand positions
May involve: Reiki blessings, visualizations/distance healing, the use of Reiki symbols, or non-initiation Reiki attunement
Training:
Course work (80 h) to understand history and philosophy, receive Reiki attunements (to enhance the amount of life force energy that flows through their bodies and that can be directed through their hands), learn hand positions and usage on clients, learning Reiki symbols, learning to Reiki bless objects/spaces/clients, learning to give Reiki attunements.
Clinic work (10-20 h) - practicing giving Reiki sessions to clients

With a passion for energy medicine, Eastern medicine and practices, and helping others to become the fullest and most vibrant expression of who they are meant to be, Kathryn is excited to be sharing her expertise with Evora’s clients. Her journey into Pranic Healing and Reiki began with a car accident in her childhood and experiencing the benefits of the energy medicine complementing conventional medicine in her recovery.
She obtained a Bachelor’s in Biochemistry and French from Knox College and a Master’s in Biochemistry from the University of Illinois Urban-Champaign. While working in the life science industry, she wanted to increase self-care and stress reduction in her life, so she enrolled in Reiki and Pranic Healing courses at the Healing Arts Center in St Louis. After becoming a Reiki Master, she enrolled in the Healing Arts Center’s Energy Master Track Program, which included both Reiki Mastery, Panic Healing (Pranic Healing, Advanced Pranic Healing, and Pranic Psychotherapy), and an energy medicine clinic. She was inducted into the school’s Order of Twin Hearts, a society of students of exceptional talent, integrity, and compassion in the study and practice of energy medicine. She furthered her Pranic Healing training with courses in Pranic Crystal Healing and Pranic and Psychic Self-Defense offered by Mary D. Clark, Ph.D. and the Healing Arts Center.
